Ballet

Ballet is a fundamental and classical style of dance. In ballet, students will focus on terminology, proper alignment, precise positions, poise, balance, grace, musicality, and artistry.

Jazz

Jazz emphasizes development of theoretical concepts of gravity, fall and recovery, and technique. Isolations, turns, jumps, flexibility, strength, coordination, and technique development will also be explored. Our jazz classes highlight many different styles of jazz dance including traditional jazz, musical theatre, and modern. 

Tap

Tap is traditionally an American art form that focuses on musicality, rhythm, articulation, and use of feet as an instrument. Our teachers are trained in musical theatre tap, rhythm tap, and basic tap styles. 

Lyrical/Contemporary

Growing out of the modern dance movement in America in the early 20th century, lyrical and contemporary dance focuses on use of the body to tell stories and emotions. Our lyrical and contemporary classes will encompass many different technique and styles used by professionals today. 

Hip Hop

Hip Hop also grew out of the modern dance movenent of the 20th century, as well as from African American dances of the 19th century. Hip Hop is a percussive style including popping, locking, breaking, and krumping. Hip Hop is commonly seen in music videos today.
